I know exactly what you mean, we're on the Autumnal turn here in Blighty and nearly overnight it smells and feels different. Coal fires have a distinct smell and we had ours going last night. I camp year round and this means packing away my summer bag and upgrading to the 3 season and wool clothing right now. Short days means plenty of cooking and drinking round the fire in darkness. To be honest I'm looking forward to the snow and down winter bag coming out but that's still a month or two away. Each season definately has it's own smell and vibe and food to go with it!
