When your target is up 600 yards away and your margin for error is 4, maybe 5 inches...and you need extreme velocity...it's the 22-250. A real barrel burner for a production round.

Is that a Boyd's stock on there? I'm scared to ask how potent the optics are. When I was checking my zero before deer season opened this year I forgot my binocs for the range. I ran to and from the target (had it at 100 yds.) after every shot. It was my workout for the month.
I live in northwestern VA. The only land around here that's 600 yards of open space is private and I don't know the right people. Other than at the range I've never taken a shot with my .30-.30 over 75 yards.

No, its a standard Remington thumb hole stock. The optic is from Nightforce. LOVE it. I use it here out west on prairie dogs. The trigger job is amazingly precise...well under a pound. It's considered a mid range shooter. You really need a .243 sized bullet to buck the winds for shots over five or six hundred yards, IMO.

Battery died the other day and I'm not heading anywhere that sells them till next week so I stuffed her in my pocket and went back to the iron sights for the rest of this week's hunting.
Thanks for the info on the glock triggers. I've never owned one but have shot my dad's old duty gun a few times but I know he did trigger work to it.
No, the Comp ML2 is a non-magnified 4MOA red-dot. It's probably not the ideal optic for anything over 200 yds., but I had it lying around and decided to put it on until I get a proper scope in the 3-9x range.

The 2x is nice at the 100 or less yard range. I really want a 1.5x-7x but can't bring myself to spend the money right now. Maybe if I saw more than 2 deer a year it would be easier.

I replaced the trigger with a 3.5lb pull and replaced the magazine release. There is a bit of free travel until it gets to the sear, but that is part of the safety system. The free travel is literally free travel & requires no pressure. Once you get to the sear, the pull is quite nice.,,not like my 1911, but there are very few pistols that have triggers like a quality 1911. I ordered mine with the night sights. I think anyone with any mechanical abilities can do the trigger work, the extended mag release isn't something I recommend really. I ended up shortening it a bit as it stuck out too far & would release the mag sometimes...which would obviously be BAD if you needed it. I thought long and hard about what gun to get SWMBO and I felt it was the best for a non-shooter, a wheelgun was my second choice.

Stopped by the local arms dealer and they had a mid size m&p 9mm and the smaller Kahr in stock.
Kahr felt nice but I put that M&P in my hand and it just felt nice. Trigger pull wasn't atrocious, either. 5lbs or under, I think.
They're getting a compact in next week so I'll check that out, too.
Gonna cruise on up to Gander Mtn. Tonight. Found a $25 gift card on top of the fridge today .

My Gander Mountain is WAY too stinkin high in Sherman, TX. The way that I do things is that I will decide on what I want and order it off Gunbroker.com & have it sent to my ffl dealer. Saves a CHUNK of cash in the long run.

I'm going for the used selection. Although thy do have a deal this weekend on an S&W Sigma with laser for 350. Not as nice as the M&P, though.

The M&P is a good choice, you won't be sorry...
