punks broke into my truck last night. ARGHHH!!!!!
Went out to go to church this morning and found my pickup had been gone through. The only thing taken was a spare box of ammo for my CCW I keep in my glove box. Fortunately, that was the only thing I keep in my truck worth taking.
My first thought was to catch the buggers, drag them DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP into Mark Twain National Forest, tie them to a tree naked and leave them there.
My second thought was, For crying out loud Raymond Your on your way to church. So I reported it to the police instead.
The police told me they have been arresting kids all over town for car break ins. All they have been taking up till now is whatever spare change was left in the ashtray or console. I guess there have always been punk kids but the older I get the more of them there seem to be. Very aggravating

Count yourself lucky. Last year someone broke into my neighbors car. On top of stealing his CD changer, they also took a dump on his front seat just to add insult to injury.

Oh, I'm afraid I would not have been able to overcome myself if that had happened. There would be a certain skinny blond and dark headed skateboarders trying to find their way out of the cold dark woods.
That's just plain rotten.

I feel your pain. Last week our vehicle got broken into in our driveway. Took the spare change, GPS and my iPod. If I was less of a person I wouldn't hesitate to find out who did it and dole out my own justice, Law Abiding Citizen style. But......I like not being in jail.
I'm a sucker for a stamped tail. Giggity.

Last year some jackass broke into my car and stole a crappy GPS that was most definitely worth less than the window that was broken to get it. That was the part that annoyed me the most.

Thanked: 90I had the same issue with the assholes who broke into my car about 20 years back. The managed to totally destroy the dashboard without ever managing to get the Audiovox (yes, Audiovox, remember them?) cassette deck out. The window, dash trim pieces and center dash unit cost my insurance company (I had full coverage at the time) well over $2000 as I recall. The cassette deck was $45.
The smart criminals become bankers, I guess.

I would much rather give something away than to have it stolen, but criminals usually don't ask.
My grandfather told the story about growing up in East Tennessee and was in a one room schoolhouse. The older boys had to cut wood for the stove in the winter and noticed that the woodpile would mysteriously get smaller on a regular basis. Deciding to sove the problem one way or another, they took an auger and bored a hole into the end of a piece of firewood, filled it up with black powder and plugged the hole back up with another piece of wood so that it was not easily seen. Of course they put it in the pile of stove wood before going home, but knew which piece it was so that they wouldn't use that one in the school stove.
Lo and behold wood was missing the next morning along with the spiked piece. Later that cold morning, a loud boom was heard and they all ran to the window to see the chimney of the town scoundrel belching smoke and spilling bricks out the backside of the chimney.
Now let me make it clear that no one should do this. No one was killed, but it did stop the theft of firewood.
