    industry !
Plus the power of athletes/celebrities endorsing products and huge marketing budgets to bombard
us men ! Axe company is a good example of target marketing . Good stuff , if you want to smell like a 15 year old schoolboy !

I usually take about 20 mins , shower, shave, clean the sink and then fall into my closet and whatever sticks to me , is what I wear !

That's not surprising Scott, I'll bet they make a mint compared to 20 years ago with men's grooming products...all part of the must have because a celebrity told me so thing. Saying that, Charles Bronson did a hell of a job selling the dream of Mandom, didn't he! Still wearing mine with pride. Not parade pride but you get me!

I've been in service for more than 20 years and long time ago i learned to shower in 2 minutes max. When home i sometimes take it little easier so my showers here might take 3 minutes. No reason to waste water either. Shaving and washing my teeth takes 10 minutes max. I'm not hurrying but i do not want to slow down needlessly. I do not use preshaves or such and usually cold water is all i need for aftershave. Real aftershave lotion for special occasions only.
Shaving surely is one of the finer things in life but i do not see a reason to put more time in it than necessary.

When I was in the Navy, fresh water was scarce so showers were limited to three minutes with the water running, maximum. Get wet, turn of water and soap up, then turn of the water again and rinse off.

Since I got out, I do like a longer shower. I tend to spend 15-20 minutes (or more) in the shower just as a way of relaxing after hard work or exercise. Typically, in the Morning, I take a 15 minutes to shower, 15 minutes to shave and no more than a couple of minutes getting dressed. If I go out some place fancy or need to dress a bit better (funerals, weddings) then I take a few more minutes, but that time's spent looking for things I haven't worn in a while like dress socks, or shining my shoes and brushing the dust off of my blazer.

As far as all the money spent on haircare and skin products, I keep it pretty simple. I don't use any sort of conditioner or fancy body wash products, just plain Ivory soap and generic shampoo. After I get out of the shower, I slap on some unscented moisturizer on my face just to condition my beard before I shave. I don't wear cologne except for going out someplace nice with my sweetheart.

And make-up? For men? Sheesh, I don't even date women that wear make-up (or at least, I didn't when I was single), so I don't see myself ever wearing that.

To quote a Dutch comedian on this topic:
We have a special word for those men.
    We call them homosexual.
Perhaps a bit strong, but really... I'd say that men doing that are trying to be women.
What's next? Talking about emotions? discussing how we 'really feel'? Trying to discern what someone 'really' meant when he said X?

Barring special circumstances, no man ever needs makeup, perfume, night creams, etc.

Hmm, now go directly without passing GO and collection $200 to our soaps, creams AS and post shave forums and spend some time there and then revisit this post.

    Hmm lemme think about this.

    shower 6 minutes
    stroping 2 minutes
    building lather 2 minutes
    shaving 20 minutes
fixing moustache 5 minutes (damn thing gets wierd on me sometimes)
    do hair 1 minute
    getting dressed 2 minutes

total 38 minutes...Takes me longer to smoke a cigar then to get ready.

    Wife getting ready
    shower 45 minutes
    moisturizing 15 minutes
    picking an outfit 30 minutes
I have no Idea what else she does as I have run out of stamina and patience watching my 9 month old while she goes on her journey to being ready....

I spend more time trolling SRP than my wife does getting ready to go out
Find me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

Ha ha, true that! I'm willing to bet you're not spending 7 minutes a day on make-up application though! There lies the difference...

Scott, thanks again for sending the Mandom all the way from Japandom. I was made up with that. Cheers fella!
