I think it was the desert star hotel.

It looks like it, although it looks a bit nicer now than it did then.
IIRC, the owner had just bought it and was trying to shape it up again.
And in all fairness to the man, he showed it to us up front.
It's just that we didn't notice the lumpiness of the bed, the neon sign or the broken lock until we actually went there to sleep.
But it was just one night, it was clean and the owner had shown it up front so we didn't complain and we wished him a good day in the morning.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

My hat is off to you Bruno, anyone who could survive a night in a hotel, like the one in your picture, deserves a medal; or at least a Certificate of Survival.
