Thread: Confession Time.

I have performed several hail Lynns and have been rubbing my Coticule beads, but I guess I am going to have to confess here I have only shaved twice in two weeks. You could probably say well it's the holidays and maybe you didn't feel well for a few days so you took some time away from scraping the face, but that is only a small comfort in the absence of true absolution. So I beg your tender graces and compassionate retributions, in thy mercy (I am sobbing uncontrollably at this point)

^^^ this
However the way I see it it's not a vice but a virtue, so I don't need an absolution.
Damn right, they will!!! You listen Glen/Max/Lynn/etc... let them generous offers start pouring my way and I be granting automatic absolutions for procrastinating and not offering sooner

Thanked: 199I suppose my confession is this:
I have a Dovo 5/8 full hollow that I got from Lynn. It was my first straight razor...and it is my LEAST favorite razor of the ones I own. I have a Gold Bug I picked up from an Antique store, a lovely DD SatinEdge I got off the bay with a great story to boot. I honed those myself, and they both shave better than that Dovo. This is by NO means saying that Lynn didn't hone it well! I still try to this day to get a better shave from that Dovo, but to no avail. I'm thinking that my coarse facial hair is just too tall an order for that Dovo to handle.
I have resorted to using it in my barber shop to give neck shaves on occasion. I think I may put it up for "adoption" before too long.

Thanked: 1936DePews. I had one that had a damaged or bad HT on it. I knew this because I sent it to Sham to see what was up with it. My first experience with a damaged or bad HT. Now I know what to look for and by golly I had fits with that one. I believe this is the first time I have let the cat out of the bag...

I confess that I have a razor that I honed so well that I don't ever use it. I have no explanation for this other than maybe I'm saving it for a special occasion?
