    1) Yes it's me.
    2) Some new type of H&K assault rifle, with underslung 40mm grenade launcher.

I was invited as a guest to one of the British Army's armourys where they collect all kinds of weapons from all over the world, from WW1 to experimantal stuff which is in prototype stage. It's also an experimental research place where they test and develop armour plating/matting, with all different kinds of ammo and weapons. For example if you want to test how a new kevlar vest works against a chinese AK47 with some weird hungarian ammo, they'll have the kit and the facilities to test it there.

Very cool place, and no I wasn't allowed to test fire anything that time.

I was in their gun club for 3 years though (before the UK banned handguns for private citizens), where I used Browning Hi-Power, CZ75, Ruger .357/.44 magnum, SA-80, MP5, Beretta 92f etc.

Here's a couple of larger pics.

Sorry, I blinked when the flash went off!

hmm...thats funny, no one invites me to test new weapons....and I used to think a food tester was a great job...a weapons tester definitely wins!!!

Great pictures, I especially love the 50 BMG, you look like you were enjoying yourself quite a bit lol!

I'd like to get a little trigger time with a with a Barrett M82A1, and have a pic to remember it by. The first photo looks a little like the HK416 platform, but I'm not gonna swear to it.

A buddy of mine had one - the blowback from the muzzle brake would part your hair standing 8 ft behind the firing line. It was tough finding ranges that allow them.

I think there's only 1 civilian range in the whole of the UK where they allow these, at Bisley!

Iwan, remind not to bid against you on ebay or sell you any dull razors! I use to have a HK41 which was the early semi-auto of the G3, now well known as the model 91. There weapons are always heavy, but they always work.

Hey I just got to hold those weapons, we aren't allowed to shoot them let alone own them in the UK these days. I have a shotgun licence and up until recently I had a Beretta 686s 12 gauge game shotgun, but I sold it a while back as it just never got used.

They banned assault weapons here after the shooting in Hungerford (15 miles away from me) and then banned handguns after the school shooting in Dunblane. Both were horrible incidents but the bans achieved nothing, there's more gun crime here now than at any time ever before. They took the legally held weapons out of circulation but don't seem all that worried about all the illegally held ones!

I had a SPAS-12 at one point, but even that had to be restricted to only hold 2 shells in the mag, and it had to be inspected and certificated by the main government proof house to prove it couldn't be modified back.

Unless you have a lot of land or are really enthusiastic about driving to gun clubs, it got really hard to own anything interesting here now.

Even our olympic pistol shooting team has to train overseas now!

I just hope they don't try and ban my razors - or I'm moving overseas!!

Just like a kid in a candy store. For a real kick try the Browning M2 .50 caliber machine gun. It's just the thing for home defense or squirrel hunting.

If you need the Browning M2 .50 to defend your home, then your army has already lost, the enemy has invaded and there's no point in doing it. Might as well get an AK-47 and go guerrilla on the invader's a**.
