I thought pounds sterling was for currency as well as jewelery measured in troy pounds and ounce.

A penny coin was literally, as well as monetarily, 1/240th of a troy pound of sterling silver and used as a measure of weight.

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. The minimum millesimal fineness is 925.

Fine silver (99.9% pure) is generally too soft for producing large functional objects.

We say the wall is 3 inches thick, but we refer to it as a 3 inch thick wall. The water may be 3 metres deep, but it is still a 3 metre deep well. The 's' in 'microns' should disappear in the context which it is used and it should read "3 micron" by common usage. I suggest:

    "Dear Customer,

Congratulations on purchasing this unique piece of jewelry, handmade using traditional Polish goldsmithing methods. Our entire collection is crafted using only stones and crystals of the highest quality and the best sterling (925 hallmark) silver. All the models from our collection are based on traditionally beautiful historical patterns and electrically covered with a 3 micron layer of red gold, for exceptional durability and longevity without the risk of discolouration. To ensure that your jewelry maintains it's brilliance and sparkle, we recommend avoiding direct contact with perfumes, cosmetics and salt water."

Now leaving aside the English and our language, let's talk about the infallibility of the Pope for a second.

    X

Last one is good. Tell your friend good luck and I hope she sells hoards and piles of jewelery.

Greetings Effigy. Welcome to the forum.
