Favourite beers in Australia are VB (Victoria Bitter), Fourex (XXXX - Queensland beer), Coopers (South Australia, I think) and imports. I'm a bit of a "Tooheys Black" fan myself - not really Guiness, but pretty good.<This signature intentionally left blank>

Thanked: 0Guys,
I've got several things to input here.
1. In Australia it is Victoria Bitters or VB that seems to be everywhere.
2. I've seem a person walking out of the Duty Free area at Shannon with a couple of 12 packs of Bud.
3. If you go to Prague and order Budwiser, it is the other one (Czech Republic) and it is really quite good. In fact, anything that you order in Prague that says PIVO on it is good.
4. All of the Fosters that I have seen in California says "Made in Canada". I don't remember if it says that in one or two languages.

I've got to make it to Prague someday. The beer of Brussels was good, too, though it's about the only thing that the city has going for it after the first few hours.
I'm sorry to offend anyone from Belgium.

Thanked: 0If anybody ever gets to Bavaria, in the area of Regansburg, there is a monastery a little ways up the Danube that makes a beer called Weltenburg. The monks started making beir in 1050 A.D. and are quite practiced. Highly Recommended.

Jimbo,
Can you recommend some Australian beers we can get here in the US? Or some wine?

For wine, again I don't know exactly what's exported to the US. Jacobs Creek is pretty good (for the price), Penfolds, most anything from the Margaret River region. Barossa Valley wines are generally good, but the Hunter Valley wines can be a bit hit or miss. I like Wolf Blass, especially the Black Label.
If you could get hold of a bottle of Penfold's Grange Hermitage, you'd probably want to emmigrate (if you had enough money left)!
