Thanked: 2In Canada, the chirstmas rush has started, or at least that's the excuse I get... There are little flyers at the post office with destinations and dates, considered the "cut off" dates for your package arriving in time for xmas. Cut off dates for certain continents start in mid-Nov and the last date, (air mail to the USA from Canada) is Dec. 9th, I believe.
I'll see if I can find that flyer...

Anything I've sent to Canada from the states or received from Canada has always taken 3 weeks plus. Within the U.S priority mail is always 2-3 days within the lower 48.

Thanked: 1Global Priority to Vlad's house was less than a week this time... that's cool.

I'm wondering how long my order from the Greater Toronto Area will take to get here. Probably a month lol.

Thanked: 8I posted a parcel to Nenad about 4 weeks ago, I don't think he's got it yet.

a while ago I posted a package to a member in the UK...I figure the Royal Mail lost it...or someone took it home or something because he still hasn't gotten it.

Thanked: 8Actually postage from Canada seems fast at the moment, 7 days. Whereas I'm still waiting on stuff from the US for 3-4 weeks now.

I just got a package in yesterday from DMS. It was sent from Texas (the next state over) on 11/20. I got it on 12/5. That's 2 weeks to get about 500 miles, from one state to the next. It also had a footprint on it when I got it. Thankfully, it was packaged well, and wasn't damaged, but I dare say the 'tards working in some of our Post Offices have more to do with the delay of packages than anything else. Occasionally, a package will get misrouted, which is to be expected when they handle more than a billion packages and pieces of mail per day. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the postal system, but occasionally, you have a package that makes you wonder. I sent a package to Bill one time with 4 razors in it. It arrived with 3. That just floors me.

I bet the package from Texas came parcel post. Never ship parcel post! It is always slow and in most cases is not any cheaper than Priority or First Class.

Maybe we should recruit/convert a high level postal employee - ya know, someone with some juice who could intervene for us when things go wrong. Who'll donate to their starter kit?
