Josh, I guess the problem is smearing the ink when your hand moves across the page?
Anyway, I love fountain pens. I got a good deal on a Dunhill Sidecar pen that was on clearance at Levenger, and then I got an extra 10% off. It's become my new work 'signature' pen. Since, you know, I have to sign a lot of letters and stuff.

Man, that is one swank pen...I've had a few decent pens over the years, but mostly cheap ones. I'm afraid to buy something nice because I lose so many of my pens, even the ones I like. :/

Thanked: 0or you lefty's... I've heard if you get a faster drying ink it helps alot.
The fastest I've used is Swishers midnight black which is made for them by Noodlers
I've heard a few comments that other leftys like that ink as well.
my fav is Noodlers Luxury blue

I too am a lefty and when I actually write something I always use either a fountain or dip pen. For me the difference is that having used them for a while I have learned that you nealy need very little pressure to write so i don't let my hand drag on the paper. I just let the knuckle of my pinky rest on the paper for stability and it slids allong below the row i have just written. I do remember some ink stained hands and smeared letters in the past but I learned to cope because my pens are just too striking to leave sitting in the box.

Thanked: 0lefty
I too am a lefty; I have no trouble using a fountain pen. They were my first passion and still are. A fountain pen collection tends to grow, like a razor collection.
WOW, we talk about pens here too, I am now at home, and to make some of y'all sick, I live five minutes from Swishers new store.

I'm a lefty as well and use a fountain pen every day. I just ordered a left handed nib (yes they do exist) with a fine nib and have no problems

Thanked: 8Yep I'm a lefty but was taught to write with the pen pointing upwards and not crab handed so I don't have a problem.
A fountain pen is ALL about the nib.
