I see you got em by the hoofs. Smart Man.. What side arm do you have? Been carrying since 1986. In my line of work you never know who or what you'll be running into and are smart to carry off duty.

    Jamie.

It might get easier if you tried it without carrying the dog, and just let him walk instead.

If you study the first photo of these three you will see a person in the distance my Mrs, who almost threw the towel in at around 2500 ft, but my boy Oscar reached the summit ahead of me, even at seven months he as a great little engine, that comes from being of 100% working Terrier stock.

First thanks, I had my once a decade smooth lip for the second half of last year. The current stache started on New Years day 2013. Since the cheesy stache was a constant for me (even when I was on active duty) deployments were hair and sideburns time. I came home from the Kosovo gig with hair and sideburns and neither one of my kids even recognized me (at that point only my wife had ever seen me with hair or sideburns). These days I don't have enough hair left to bother with either but the soup strainer is still out in full force. Although I've promised myself a home stretch set of chin whiskers for my last semester of grad school. I bet she'll love that. Confidentially though I doubt I could go 4 months without shaving but I guess I'll give it a go next year around this time.

Spring field XD9 5" It is my EDC. Been carrying everyday since 1993.

And I start them young around here.

One of the dogs cornered it in the stair well to the root cellar of the out building.

While this photo was taken my 4yr old went inside and got my skinning knife (we had to explain it was a baby and to little to eat).

And yes even at that age and size they can inflict some damage, but that was a no brainer for me as I raise beef cattle as well.

Great video... Takes me back to when my Dad took me out to the Strip mines when I was about that age and got on his knees with his German Mauser and held it while I aimed and squezed the trigger. He passed away in 94, God rest his soul. He was my buddy. I remember that like it was just yesterday and loved him for it. I'm sure your boy will also...

    That makes me smile,
If you look at the end (you may have to go to YouTube) there is one of him shooting The Nagant on the same day.
I promise it hurt me more than him.

These types of memories are the ones that stayed so vivid for me, I hope to pass part of that on.
