Hmmmmm, No jobs other than helping each other with kids and broken cars, etc? Perhaps I surmise too much from the picture you paint.

Sounds like a typical 'hood on "the dole". I hope that isn't the case but if I were a betting man, my money would be on it.

Sounds like a great environment to be a target.

When you said your lady was a "washingtonian" [sic], are you referring to Washington State or Washington, D.C.?

Washington state Wullie, I don't think the hood there is as HOOD as in DC (from what I read)

Gotta watch out for those Yakamas, though. Their drive-by shootings tend to leave arrows and tomahawks stuck into houses!

Pumpkin donuts? I love all things pumpkin. I didn't see any of those. The "Canadian Maple" was pretty much the most amazing donut ever made other than my wife's maple bacon donuts.

Wow, lots of discussion on the freedoms enjoyed or not enjoyed in various countries but no mention of The Patriot Act. I guess most people do like to feel protected by their own governments. I guess the real question is how much freedom people are willing take a chance on potentially giving up in order to feel safe.

Excellent point. The "Patriot Act" and "NDAA" are probably the most shameful things in all American history since the The Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798. That was a real gem, too. Almost everyone I know has nothing but negative comments about all of them.
