Default Germany's top court says army can use weapons on German streets in extreme situations

Do they know something that we should be aware of? What are they preparing for?

BBC News - German court widens army's internal crisis role

Here in the states, after Obama won the Presidency, I went to a gun shop where the owner and I talked straight razors. We were looking at some pistols and the shop guy said that he could sell me the gun but not any ammo. After Obama won there was a run on ammo and most places were out of stock. These days, not related to Obama as far as I can tell, the talk is about domestic terrorism so we have the Patriot Act. Talk about a card blanch, from the limited I understand, anyone domestic or foreign arrested under the Patriot act can be gone forever w/o a trial. Is Germany moving in the same way? What is the real reason for this policy outside what they are telling the common person?
