Germany's top court says army can use weapons on German streets in extreme situations
Do they know something that we should be aware of? What are they preparing for?
BBC News - German court widens army's internal crisis role
Here in the states, after Obama won the Presidency, I went to a gun shop where the owner and I talked straight razors. We were looking at some pistols and the shop guy said that he could sell me the gun but not any ammo. After Obama won there was a run on ammo and most places were out of stock. These days, not related to Obama as far as I can tell, the talk is about domestic terrorism so we have the Patriot Act. Talk about a card blanch, from the limited I understand, anyone domestic or foreign arrested under the Patriot act can be gone forever w/o a trial. Is Germany moving in the same way? What is the real reason for this policy outside what they are telling the common person?“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A. Einstein)

Shhhhhhhh don't say anything. They will come in the middle of the night and take you away never to be heard from again.

Ok - in all seriousness, when the Germans figure out they bailed out the entire EU and are now completely broke and have nothing left... there's going to be a very real need to keep the public calm - dead calm maybe?

Thanked: 334Quick honest question: are Germans particularly known for rioting? What danger am I missing that the German judiciary perceives?

Thanked: 334The Richard Riot in Montreal back in the late 1950s when Clarence Campbell suspended The Rocket for the duration of the season plus the playoffs!
Back on topic: the last thing I could call a German riot that I recall was November 1989 when the Berlin Wall came down...but I don't think I would call that a riot, more of a celebration!
