I'll measure it next time I'm up there, but it looks like the bottom floor with the fireplace was only about 4 feet high.......

Yeah well being tall isn't exactly all it's cracked up to be... early in life you hit an "awkward" stage... ha! A two year awkward stage! Bah!
Then later you struggle because you are poor and can't afford quality linens - the nightly debate becomes if you should leave your socks on because your sheets are too short!
Forget about baths!! Chest or knees? Ones going to get cold! And then to top it off, every day you get on the subway your bash your head on the handrails as some jerk trys to squeeze onto the train!
Yeah being tall isn't all that really! There aren't any cheap convertibles I fit in either! Well not if you want to drive stick anyway... woe is me lol.
