Decided to toss a few more up.
Chisolm Trail marker near Rio Vista, TX

    Close up of the sign.

Was around Thurber, TX Thurber Texas and http://www.texasescapes.com/FEATURES..._ghosttown.htm one morning with a bit of time to kill as the children were running late as usual. This area has always fascinated me.

Left out Thurber went through Mingus and across Ward Mountain. Saw this pretty girl standing around.

Broken dreams I guess. Was a HUGE "L" shaped partly two story house at one time. Not much left but the walls.

The barn is about gone as well.

I suppose the first pic should be of the pilgrimage to the birth place:

Willie, the line markings are like that because of a no overtaking rule along that section. the regular centre line markings would be a series of single 'dashes' indicating a safe overtaking area. Seems Aussies don't have enough brains to figure out for themselves if it is safe to pass or not...

Pixel, 'roo's sleep in the heat of the day mostly. They're probably all out under a nice shadey tree bein' all dopey and sleepy. I was out the morning before, on the bike, and had a bit of swerving to do, for all the skippy's that were out...Seems none of them know where the zebra crossings are...Or perhaps they think they're only for zebra's or something. I just don't know.

...That's further North and West mate. Even further West you also get the burnt out car bodies by the side of the road as well. Looks just like 'Mad Max' in some places. We're relatively sedate this far East...

Been a wet August here. It's usually dead brown this time of year. THAT much green in August/Sept in this part of the world is highly unusual.
