You know, when I was a kid I watched Sesame Street obsessively. This was during the '70's, though I guess that is not important. In Australia "jelly" is the term we use for "jello".

I'd watch an episode of Sesame Street, then rush out and pester my mother for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and she would look at me like I was nuts. One day she must have decided that giving me what I wanted would be so awful that it would cure me, so I got given a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

It didn't look like what I had seen on the tv - mine was all chunky and lumpy and the bread wobbled around, but I ate it. And I remember thinking these Americans don't have a clue. And from that day on, I only ate vegemite sandwiches.

    What is my point?

No, seriously, tell me - what is my point...???

My mother would always yell at me for putting to much peanut butter on my sandwich. I couldn't wait until I grew up and could make them the way that I liked them. Every once in a while I still make a sandwich with at least 1/4 inch of peanut butter and think of my mother while I eat it.

A nut is a nut except for a coconut, I will point out that just because someone has a peanut allergy does not mean their allergic to all nuts. So it's possible some of those items you list might be okay, but most likley not.

All I know is most of us enjoyed a PB&J and it wasn't the peanut butter or the jelly that made it magical, it is because the secret ingredient was LOVE.

I'm just thinking actually, they should rename that to a "Type II diabetes" sandwich. There must be enough sugar in a PB&J sandwich to start a small rum distillery.

Dangit guys....I'm on a no to low carb diet and all this talk about bread and peanutbutter is making me want some! I demand that this discussion be banned for the sake of my waist.

That's right. All of you are disallowed to talk about this subject because me not following my diet could kille me 10 year sooner.

They usually classify nuts as tree nuts or not and often times you can have an allergy to one type and not another. Peanuts are not tree nuts. Nut allergy is really common just that most who have it get very mild symptoms and don't even realize it or just live with it.
