Thanked: 983Just had some fajita's for lunch today myself too. I've met up with several (dozens and dozens) of your fire-ants when in the southern parts of Texas. It was not a pleasant experience and the fact that I was jumping around and slapping myself all over like what Jimbo described earlier, didn't show me off in a favourable light to any of the people nearby who I happened to be screaming at at the time. Seems when you look and act like a madman, people treat you like a leper.
Well nothing that dramatic really, but it was a painful experience all the same.

I was thinking more that the weather keeps many of the bad bugs at bay but you bring up another good point.
The farther north you get the food as a general rule tends to be blander. We have more natural refrigeration so traditionally we do not need spices to cover up bad food!
Not that I don't like a good Mexican meal. I know very few places around here that you can find one. The farther north one goes the more that seems to get lost in the translation. But then again I could say the same thing regarding trying to find a good Chinese restaurant.

Thanked: 1185Yeah, I would have said an ant pile, being a Florida boy I've seen a few the Florida variety looks like a pile of dirt with a large hole in the center.
My next guess would have been what is left of the Branch Davidian complex in Waco. Oops did I say that out loud? The older I get, the better I was
