Default What is your opinon on automatic can openers ?

I like the old swingaway manual can opener. Now there are mostly 'pop tops' but occasionally you run into an old type can.

Does this mean you have a concealed can opener permit? With the proper training an authorized permit holder could open a serious can of whoop-ass. I'm just sayin'.

I prefer the manually operated one that you turn the "butterfly" while squeezing the handles together. Or one in my Gerber Multi Plier or Victorinox/Wenger Swiss knives. My wife likes the automatic one. It works only half the time. I think the automatic ones should be banned. They scare me. There is no good use for a common "untrained" person to have one of these.................

I was just about to post a pic of the one I have hanging on my keychain. Very handy, indeed.

Hahahahaha!!! Thanks, Jimmy for defusing some of the tension from the other "automatic" thread.
