She did hit him first. I don't condone hitting women, but she put herself in a man's place. Personally, I'm not going to sit there and let anyone just beat on me, the only exceptions being an elderly person, pregnant woman, and a child.

Normally I wouldn't condones hitting women, but in this day and age, she very well could have been carrying a knife or gun and made the situation fatal. I applaud the driver for taking control of the situation and ending the threat of an obviously belligerant woman.

Just saying he should have had her off the bus before it escalated... i.e. if she hit him.
If a 8 yr old comes at you swinging a kitchen knife you disarm it send it to it's room not knock it's block off.The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Really??? She thinks an uppercut is a finisher? I use two or three uppercuts in a single round...
Okay, in all seriousness... Why is this news? Ha! I joke, I kid. Violence is bad, Mmkay?
The only thing I do not agree with is a person in a professional setting losing their cool. I would love to haul off and smack some of the people I interact with, but I never would. Even when they have gotten in my face and threatened me, I have never hurt someone (on the job). I don't care about race, sex, age, whatever. If you are at work, be professional. And if you are not going to be professional ... Well I guess keep putting it on video

Thanked: 334Fortunately, I worked in a professional setting where it was expected to "haul off and smack some of the people I interact(ed) with"!

Thanked: 983Yup, been a bouncer. Had to hit people sometimes. Got hit sometimes too. That was a huge over-reaction by the driver, even though the lady needed a good smarten up. Way too much "What about me? I have rights and I'm more important than you" mentality and not enough, "What about my responsibilities? How should I show respect? And thusly be treated with respect" happening.
I have found that keeping a calm demeanor can work whichever way you want it to, in any given situation. You can calm a situation with it, and with carefully chosen polite words, you can infuriated an agumentative person. Of course it is too late to use it if you've already shown you can be angered. You have to be calm right from the beginning and smile alot...Even if they hit you.

I am an instructor at a private for profit school. A lot of the students we get are really good. They would do just fine at any college or university. There are a few that should not be there. I had one last summer that got up in class in started giving me lip, similar to the lady on the bus. She was getting frustrated about her grades and the reading material. Anyway, I just smiled and let her rant. I knew if I started a yelling match I would be the one getting fired. Plus, there is a button that summons security if things do get out of hand. I do not envy the job of any security personnel. I am a p*ssy. Um, I mean I am a pacifist. Yeah, that's the word I am looking for.
From their stillness came their non-action...Doing-nothing was accompanied by the feeling of satisfaction, anxieties and troubles find no place
