So far, at age 30, I've only had three grow in (insert smarmy comment here). Last October one of them broke so I called up the dentist and went in at 11am. I made it back to work around 12.30 with a thick pack of gauze. Everyone thought I was insane for working right after an extraction so I used it as an excuse to take the next two days off.
But that was only one tooth.
For the whole lot of them you'll be sore. I was sore from one but with the rest of my mouth feeling well I could function. Just keep some cool drinks handy. No straws. Lots of painkillers and gauze. And don't feel guilty bogarting the TV.

I have had my wisdom teeth removed and 3 had to be cut out at the same time. At the dentist the shots to numb it are the worst. I had mine done the day before Thankgiving and there wasn't much turkey joy that day. It's not fun, but it's not the worst thing you'll ever have done. More inconvenience than down right discomfort, and it heals pretty fast and, you're young and probably quick to heal. Thinking about it is worse than doing it. Well, at least after the 2nd day with gauze in your mouth!! GOOD LUCK!!! Sounds worse than it actually is!

    Best Regards,
    Howard

Better to have them done now rather that later. I had all four of mine removed in one appointment in my mid-twenties. Is it being done by a dentist or an oral surgeon? I had a surgeon, with a 9am appointment, he put a nitrous oxide mask on me and told me to count to ten. I think I made it to 5 or 6. Don't remember much other than waking up around 2 in the afternoon to take a Percocet, changed the gauze and then went back to bed. I was eating soft food the next day. I know people who have have the procedure done with Novocaine/Procaine and they're and up and walking around after the appointment, but they don't seem happy. I'm glad my surgeon used gas. Hopefully you have someone to help take care of you and best wishes on a speedy recovery.

My boy just went through that a couple of months ago. Dentists have made great leaps and bounds since mine were cut out in pieces in 1967 and I had to spend two days in a hospital.

Adam was in and out in a couple of hours. His was done on a Friday and he was in pretty good shape by Monday. Saturday wasn't much fun and Sunday was a little better.

It left some holes in his gums that are filling in and the biggest problem he has is food getting stuck in holes. It'll take a bit of time for you to heal completely and you'll be sore for a week or so, but once it's done the problem is solved.

My advice is to get it done and get it over with. Those teeth will cause you a lot of misery if you don't get them removed.

    You'll be fine.
