But, Josh, do you really need /another/ reason to own a gun? I thought there were plenty out there already.

I am guessing she might go shopping for one after that. After she gets out of therapy that is.

We had a rash of burglaries yesterday. Well one home owner was home and saw the burgler from her basement. She called 911 right away and hid in the closet. The purp shouldered the door a few times and gave up and left. They missed him by a few minutes. The first Officer on scene said he has never seen anyone so hysterical in his 20+ years.

Just remember, you can't use deadly force to protect your property. This is why spring-guns and the like are a big no-no (and on every law school torts or crim law exam ever).

Now, if you think he's coming in to kidnap and murder you, then rape your corpse, well, the situation changes.

Thats why I love the new castle law here. Anyone who breaks in when they could reasonably expect someone to be home is also assumed to be a threat to those home allowing them the latitude to do what they need to without worrying about reasonable force when in an unreasonable position.

You can never have too many reasons to own a gun, or too many guns owned.

Boo. If you want to take what's mine, you should have to deal with whatever I've got waiting for you.

Somehow I doubt that's going to be lobbied into law anytime soon, though...
