Fil In Hospital Again.
My father inlaw was admitted into the hospital again. The blooming primary care physician waited too long before honoring our requests for him to see a podiatrist and vascular specialist so now he's got gangrene in one of his feet. Some times I think doctors intentially ignore people who work in the medical field just to try to prove who's boss. All this doctor proved is that my wife is more intelligent than him.
They're going to perform at least 3 operations. I'll be checking email as frequently as I can but will likely be preoccupied with this until he's back home. I'm the one who gets the midnight shift with him at the hospital so they won't strap him down to keep him from wandering the hallways.
Any and all prayers appreciated.Last edited by Flanny; 12-19-2006 at 09:37 PM.

I know what you are going through.
Both my parents were in and out
of the hospital before they passed
away.
Do hang in there and take care.

Well i do not know what you mean it is a shame that one Medical professional feels the need to prove a point when another person could be at the ill effects of it, but it does happen. My thoughts and prayer are with you and your family but everytime you go to see him try to look happy and inspire him to be as happy as you are when you see each other.

Thanks all for the prayers and well wishes. They really do help. I'm hoping this time finally makes him better.
They rescheduled the first surgery to tomorrow morning. His PTINR results weren't the best this morning. His blood was still too thin from the blood thinners. They have him on IV antibiotics every 8 hours though and I have to say I think there's been MAJOR improvements. He seems completely coherent now but we're still pulling shifts at the hospital to help him in and out of the bed, etc. as the gangrene seems to have sapped his strength. The doctors think the gangrene got into his blood stream and caused the confusion and hallucinations.
Well I just came back to take a quick shower and check email. Thanks again everyone. I really am grateful for the moral support. It helps more than you probably realize. God Bless.
