Likes & Thanks
I was going through a thread and a member posted: "Regardless of how many empty Likes you got..."
If they are EMPTY, they why are they even in place... When I click the mouse, it's for a reason...
Your thoughts?Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated...

SO... so far, everyone that has posted said that they do it for a reason... NOT just "because"... ???

I have to admit that I too read that and thought it odd BUT, after a little reflection, I "assume" what the moderator meant to express was that no matter how many likes he got on that post - doesn't make it right.
That's my take on it. And I feel rather odd putting words into anyone's mouth... but in the spirit of answering your question, that's how I took it.
I assume you are not a sheep lol and that yes, you indeed like something when you "like" what was written. I know that is my case. I am with Harrywally - I know I like what I like, and thank when I think it's helpful. But that doesn't mean what I like is something that is in the spirit of the forum...
That's my take anyway.David

Here's my take, I "like" what I like, whether I agree or even if I have a different opinion than the member who may have posted a response if it's supported with sound logic, I "like" a post if I find it to be funny. For instance, I "liked" a recent post from a mod regarding a spending time in the penality box." I thought that was funny and I am quite certain even the offending player will see the humor it the post after serving his time for a 2-minute minor or 5-minute major penality. I don't think there are any empty likes, but sometimes things may be typed or liked in the heated discussion where emotions are already running high. This quote from Dr. Laurence J. Peter is always on my mind when reading threads that are dealing with controversial topics,
"Speak when you are angry and you'll make the best speech you'll ever regret."
That alone has made me temper my responses or not respond at all to some threads and posts.
As for "Thanks", I will thank anyone who answers a question I pose, or any other number of reasons. On a parting note, I like you all and Thanks for reading my post.
