As for keeping our guns, there is historical precedent for government taking them. Whether they could do it here in the USA remains to be seen. I think it will happen eventually.

There is a huge difference though.
Lying about WMD (which is rather obvious he did) was a way to get what he wanted that does not include a complex operation to kill American citizens. Setting up the 9/11 attacks to kill thousands of American citizens is a whole different ballgame.
Aside from the moral and ethical implications, the former only requires some careful massaging of intelligence data. And I'll give George Bush the benefit of the doubt: he really wanted it to be true and might not have wanted to give credit to reports that contradicted him. And his people might not have pointed out that the emperor had no clothes.
The latter otoh requires setting up an amazingly complex conspiracy, involving lots of people, all of whom would have needed to have no conscience, and the ability to keep world changing secrets. And they would have to be very lucky and successful, which is rather challenging for typical governmental projects.
And that is without believing that the collapses were cause by controlled demolition, which would raise the bar even further, requiring an operation that is complex beyond belief, and which would involved hundreds of active participants. Again, all of which would need to keep total secrecy and never be plagued by a guilty conscience.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

The difference is that gun ownership in the UK is not written in the constitution like it is in the US. In Belgium, gun ownership was restricted a couple of years ago. The government could do this rather easily by majority vote because our constitution gives them that right. With the US, this approach would simply not fly without a constitutional amendment, which is nigh on impossible on this topic.

Bingo !!!!!
There it is,,, the million dollar truth, now apply that to what is going on today and keep in mind that you are actually not being bombarded with half-facts and outright fabrications of the agenda driven media like we Americans have been in the last few days...Last edited by gssixgun; 12-19-2012 at 06:14 PM.

Thanked: 13246To answer the Pointed question that seems to be on every pundit's lips right now...
"Why does anyone Need Assault Weapons they are designed to kill people, they are weapons of Mass destruction"
RKBA people have a "Knee Jerk" reaction also, we are not stupid enough to ever believe that if another AWB is put into effect that in two years when a wacko uses a "Sinper" rifle that the non-shooting puplic will see every accurate deer rifle as a "Sniper" rifle...
There is zero difference between a heavy barrel tack driving "Varminter" and a Heavy Barrel Tactical Sniper Rifle except maybe the color of the stock
We knee jerk and defend every weapon as soon as they are threatened whether we really think we need one or not...
ps: Every single weapon made was designed to kill, from the first fire hardened pointy stick, to the most advanced technology today they all have only one purpose... Face the hard fact, Man KillsLast edited by gssixgun; 12-19-2012 at 06:21 PM.

May be you ought to reread this post which addresses starting threads like this one.
I am of the opinion that if you had spent the extra 30 seconds to start the thread properly, you wouldn't have to post that clarification.

OK I just can't hold it in any longer. I saw it all. You see I was delivering pizzas and they ordered a bunch at this big hangar on the base and when I delivered them this guy was fumbling for the change and some dude in a space suit gave me my tip. I asked him what he was doing and all he said to me was "green cheese". Uh oh I hear a helicopter. I'm outta here.
