From what little i understand about this it comes down to Rise taxes to everyone equally, Or Rise Taxes to everyone but put the boots to the 1%ers.
Before you know it you guys will have you very own Goverment Spending Tax (GST). Just One more way the U.S. is going to becoming more like Canada.

Personally I think taxes are needed. Biggest way a government can get money is to tax. I am not saying tax the shit out of people but I am saying maybe its time to do the right thing (try to dig us out of debt) not the popular thing (tax cuts).

Quick econ lesson as to why taxes are being debated, expiring tax cuts and decreased government spending is possibly going to send the US back into recession. This would be bad for everyone. The key is to find a way to tax and run the government and keep the recovery of the nation going. So therein lies the problem.
