The stuff of dreams: Posi-traction. Solenoid systems. Hydra-static trannies. Tri-Power. Fins, fender skirts and lots of chrome. Bad-a$$ grilles. I'm gonna go hug my '68 AMX before I go to bed tonight!

My version is WD-40 or duct tape. If it doesn't move and should use the WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't use the duct tape.

I was 30+ and one day actually used duct tape on a duct. It made my day!

I lowballed him BIG time and he bit. While he was inside getting the paper work, I straightened out the two crossed wires. WE did the deal and he told me he'd be around when came back with a trailer. Told him I thought I'd drive it home. He looked at me funny as I started it. It purred like a kitten and I smoked the tires out of his driveway and headed home with that punk.

Had a lot of fun with that butt ugly POS before I sold it and doubled my money. LOL

THAT number is BURNED in my brain. LMAO

I have been doing body work every day of every year since 1975. So in the mid 70's were we working on 10-15 year old cars, all the muscle cars of the 60's from corvettes ,GTO, Hurst Olds,Buick Wildcat,Ply Cuda, Roadrunners, Chevelle SS On and on...those were the good ol days.....Cars nowadays all look the same to me. The last neat car I had in my shop was a 1969 Impala SS ..427 w/factory 4 speed ..a beauty too !!

Skill with a hammer is important too, especially for front end work! One of my favorite tricks is hitting a steering knuckle at just the right angle and pop all four tie rod ends loose from one side of the car to the other. Might not think that a 40oz Snap-On Dead-Blow Ball Peen hammer is worth all the money, but after spending half a day beating on something with a hammer the wrong way, one begins to appreciate only needing to hit something ONCE. (All you need is for some old mechanic to show you how, just once, and just like shaving with a straight razor, a bit of practice, too!)

YES, I do know of that trick, but alas, my first Harley was an '83 Ironhead XLX-61. (Maybe we should do a "first bike" thread and a "first Harley" thread, because they are rarely the same bike!)
