Thanked: 0What do our 'partners' think about the SR addiction?
This topic may have been visited before but I'm curious.
What does your spouse / partner / girl (/boy)-friend think about your obsession straight razors and associated paraphernalia?
From my own experience, my gf was at first a little concerned by my interest in straight razors because she was convinced that I would accidentally cut my head off. This concern of hers has waned somewhat and has been replaced by a new concern about the all money I'm spending on shaving stuff (it must be around $1000 over the past 4 months or so).
I would say, though, that the biggest incentive for me to continue on this straight razor bent is the fact that she cannot touch my smooth face without purring. What more incentive does a guy need?

Thanked: 2My wife picked me up a Dovo Pearlex razor from Classic when we got engaged.
My beautiful wife picked me up a Red Bone handled Dovo from Classic when we got married.
My loving, caring wife picked me up a Dovo Mother of Pearl handled razor from Classic for Christmas this year.
Anyone see a trend?
On top of that, she doesn't mind that I've turned our basement and spare room into a shaving brush factory. Or as she puts it to family and friends "It looks like an exotic wood store threw up in our basement."
So overall, I'd say she's supportive.

We have a standing arrangement. I don't complain about her obsession with Harry Potter and girlish graphics she's into and she doesn't complain about my razors. Btw no I didn't rob a cradle, we're about the same age but I won't go into more detail as it would be ungentlemanly of me

Mine tends to support my eccentricities.
The only things she minds are (i) how much time I take in the bathroom in the mornings and (ii) how much space my shaving soaps/creams/lotions/potions take up in the cupboard.
Now I have to admit, this is facilitated by the fact that we don't see each others' bank statements or credit card bills!

My girlfriend gets mildly irritated whenever she hears the names "Lynn Abrams" or "Maestro Livi", and she gets quite angry if a parcel arrives from either of them.

My wife clearly thinks it's manly. She's been known to say things like, "That's my favorite razor" and offers up, "He uses an old style straight razor" before I do in conversation. She has opinions on everything about my shaving from how pretty or ugly the various 'handles' are to how much she appreciates or dislikes the scent I'm lathering with.

She likes the scents, she likes the closeness of the shave.
She hates the time in the bathroom, she hates my using up the hot water.
Basicely she thinks the whole obsession is just plain nuts.

My wife just thinks I'm nuts and knows enough to stay clear when I'm shaving!
