I'm here to he'p you. I work for the gub'mint.

After getting thoroughly disenchanted with the no longer very lucrative and exciting long haul, super, heavy haul trucking (rolling road block type junk), about ten years ago, I became a chimney sweep. That was fun, but too seasonal.

I decided that I REALLY needed to make a new start and went to work for TxDOT. Hired on as a road hand/equipment operator. Enjoyed that for a while and an "inspector" job came open and I applied for, and got that gig.

Nowadays, I ride around in a pick-up and aggravate our various "low-bid" contractors. My main gig is keeping the guardrails stood up.

    Beats working for a living.

I usually tell people I'm a piano player in whore house when they ask. Cuts down on the blow back.

I spent the better part of 25 years as a RF/Microwave technician, much of that time building spacecraft transponders for Hughes. XM Radio was the thing I worked on that anyone is likely to have heard of. Also a small time landlord/RE investor. Then I sold my holdings in southern CA and came up here to the Pacific northwest and bought a hotel. So I guess I'm an innkeeper and small businessman.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
