Thanked: 485Cool. I was a Recruit Instructor in the Australian army for two years, best job in the army. However, it turns you in to a bit of a psycho, it's hard to switch off. At the time my kids (aged about 4 and 7) had to stand at attention at the ends of their beds and endure room inspections.
"Why is Teddy not sitting up straight!" "Why is Beach Barbie not dressed in her two piece swimming outfit that magicly changes colour in the water!" "Fix it! I'LL BE BACK IN five MINUTES, and if it's not fixed you, your brother, Barbie and Teddy are going for a ten mile run!"Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Congratulations for you and for your fine son. A few years ago (like 50) I was priviledged as a Marine Captain to run Q Company in the 3rd Batallion MCRD Parris Island. I was responsibile for 65 DIs. Each of them were the finest of men, patient, loyal and brave. I cherish the memory and trust that your son will do the same at the end of his tour. He does God's work developing Marines to protect us in this fine country.
