Absolutely incredible, I tell you!
I was over at a friend’s house the other day and he needed to get a recipe for his wife from some folks she knows through her church. Apparently, they are an old line German family and the woman of the house has all these family treasure recipes.
So we go over there and the husband is in the kitchen honing a chef’s knife and we start talking about hones and razors. The woman’s husband is a master machinist and is a DE user and actually has made his own DE’s and he has a setup in his garage like you’ve never seen before. I noticed out on the patio was a real old timer sitting in a wheel chair. I asked who it was and he said that’s my pop. He don’t speak too much English only German. He’s 95 years old and has his issues. He loves to talk razors.I said no fooling. So he wheels him over and the husband is translating and all I keep hearing from him sounds like razor in German and Boker.
So we ask the husband what he’s talking about and he says, well back in the old country he worked for Boker. He was their number 1 master razor maker and supervised the entire razor production. I didn’t believe him, he wasn’t gonna make a fool out of me. The old guy tells his son to go into his bedroom and pull out the old trunk in the closet. So he does and brings it down and he starts rummaging through it and pulls out these leather slip cases, probably about 20 of them and in each has around 10 brand spanking pristine vintage boker razors. Most of the models they made while he worked there before WWll and after the war. He worked for them for 40 years. Many of them were really ornate machined models I never even knew they made. All were absolute top of the line pieces. Some were one of a kind he said.
Ever see a King Cutter with the gold sparkling and with a polish you could see your reflection in? He had models with ivory scales and pearl scales and rare woods. I and my friend just about passed out on the floor.
I told him about SRP and asked him if he ever thought about selling some of them. He couldn’t believe folks still used straight razors. He said, “you know I’m an old man and don’t have many years left and I’d rather see these razors go to people who appreciate them rather than them just disappearing to a bunch of fools”.
So he says tell you what I’ll do, I’ll sell them all to your members.
Now you know we can’t discuss prices here and sales but he said the price would bring a smile to everyone and when he told me the price I would have written him a check right there and then but not being the fool I told him we’ll work out the arrangements.
So don’t be a fool and plan on getting one of these rare beauties. Now, if you don’t you will truly feel foolish.

Nice try!
If it would have been for real I would say the old mans stories would be worth more than the razors....Hur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.
