She lived a long life. I'll always remember her for telling the first President Bush, "Don't go wobbly on me George."

A strong Lady I thought these were some of her best words

“One of the great debates of our time is about how much of your money should be spent by the State, and how much you should keep to spend on your family. Let us never forget this fundamental truth: the State has no source of money other than the money people earn themselves. If the State wishes to spend more it can do so only by bothering your savings or by taxing you more. And it’s no good thinking that someone else will pay, that’s someone else is you. There is no such thing as public money, there is only tax-payers’ money."

Thatcher and Reagan were what I considered to be the last true leaders. Everyone since seems just to be a manager of sorts.

It is going to be interesting to see the difference in reaction to her passing from different parts of the world. My prediction is that the reaction in the USA and in the former Soviet Union will be very, very different to that from the EU and parts of the UK, particularly the North of England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

Interesting words considering this Making Economic Sense and the whole poll tax mess. Much of the ground work leading up to the financial crisis in 2008 was laid by the leaders who started the financial deregulation process. Leaders such as Regan and Thatcher.

I am sorry to hear of Thatchers passing, or anyone's for that matter, but her legacy is not something I am enjoying dealing with now.

I'm British, and I grew up in the Thatcher era, which was an unmitigated disaster.

I'm not remotely sorry she's dead.
