    Default Birds

The birds were your friends then, but now they are just a nuisance, shitting, and squawking,
You don't understand them any more like you used to, like when you were friends...before.
They used to speak to you. Their unknown sounds being known sounds only to you.
You used to love them and they used to love you. You kept each other, in love.
You used to see them hover. And glide. And swoop. And you used to delight in the whole deal. Delight!
You used to stop your car in the road and look, and muse.
You used to love them. And they used to love you.
But now you don’t, do you?
    Admit it.
You’ve lost that. You’ve lost that link.
Now you just care about your car. Your house. Your things.
    Fingerprints.
Don’t get finger prints on the screen.
    On the surface.
    Don’t scratch it.
You don’t even hear the birds anymore.
    Do you?

A wandering thought to dwell upon the loss of life’s love.

A moment to mourn its passing, a glimpse of the important intangible things as reality sets in.

As we become bound by things beyond our control, forced into the tangible meaningless world before us.

See the world through child’s eyes, a moment of truth.

And we still believe wisdom comes with age…..

Is that yours? Wisdom does come with age, if we think that wisdom is hindsight...

I wrote that poem in an instant while talking to my sister on facebook. I think it's true. No one cares about the birds any more; just about their stuff... My mum and dad care about the birds, they're 75 and 85. Only old people know stuff. New people don't know stuff. Not important stuff.

    Yes it is mine.

A wee bit of tought and inspiration from your post.

And if hindsight is equated to wisdom but one loses sight of why the wisdom was gained in the first

place, would that not make ones wisdom trivial at best.

Oh, cool. How great! Oh, I don't really know about wisdom. Just musing. Child's eyes are the great eyes. All we can really hope for is child's eyes..As we grow older...

Au contraire Carl, My spouse and i been feeding birds ever since we moved in our house some 20+ years ago. It is quite relaking to watch them and hear them as well. A few feeders and some birdhouse spread all over, there is always activity in our yard for sure. It is especially fun to watch them return from their south journey in the spring.

Actually, wisdom must certainly be used for the help in one's path, and in the help of others (one must not keep it to one's self), if they wish and want, to the good and right path one feels within one's self. One can only guide one's self to the right path that one feels. Actually, I think everyone feels the same path, the same right, but only some follow. There are not different right paths, only the one...All feel it, some follow...

Then again, it's my birthday and I'm reaLLY [under the weather], SO TAKE IT with a pinch of salt....I still like my poem though...

So, the poem doesn't sit well with you, my New Yorkian Friend???
All I can say is I am happy. However, I'm sad to say I feel it sits well with many. Finger prints. Scratches. Materialism.

I dont dissagree with the poem at all, just stating that there are still some who care about it!
