Size: 55.4 KBThis is the razor I broke the tang on recently. I've got it stuck together with superglue for now; I'm not expecting it to last too long, but it works for now!
This is my second restoration attempt, and as with the first, I have basically used stuff I found lying around. The scales are some unidentified blue plastic sheet. I think it's acryllic, but wouldn't swear to it.
The wedge is a bit of green micarta looking stuff that may well find it's way into becoming a full set of scales for my next resto attempt.
I have recently found what used to be a model engineering shop, and they still had some old stock they were selling off, hence the nice brass rivets for the pins! I ran out of brass washers, which I was a little bit annoyed at, but I can always repin once I have some delivered.
Everything was polished up using a 3 wheel drill mounted buffing kit from a car shop, following some pretty intensive emery cloth work! A couple of pits in the blade were too deep to polish out, but I'm still pretty happy with it.
I Hope you enjoy looking, and please feel free to comment, both positively and negatively (as long as it's constructive!)

I hope she holds out for you, since you put a lot of hard work in her.

For a second attempt it looks pretty good! That blue is actually pretty nice looking with the brass pins! The best part of doing it cheap is the experience of restoring, practice makes perfect!
I shave because I want to, not because I have to!

Cheers fellas. I was gutted that the blade snapped, but thought I'd finish it anyway. I quite like the vividness of the blue, but the plastic does look cheap. I need to get some nicer materials I think. I may have to even *gulp* pay for some!!!

I just hope that glue joint do's not let go whilst mid stroke on your neck (if you are shaving with it)

I got some very nice-looking scales of acrylic that were translucent and steelbrushed rather than polished. You might try brushing yours?

Wondered what happened to it, nice job on the scales man. Oh yeah, add some duct tape; cuz "if you can't duct it then...well you know!"
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

I'll bear that in mind, thanks!

And Pixelfixed, no I'm not shaving with it! Not while it's just superglued, anyway. It's just for show, to annoy the Mrs... ("when are you going to sell one of these things...?)
