Default B J Eyre Challenge Razor restore - black and white ebony

I just finished this razor after procrastinating a bit. So, here it is. I polished it and hit it with Mother's, but didn't sand anything down. I wanted to preserve the engraving on the face as much as possible. In that same line of thought, I wanted to show off the engraving even when the razor wasn't in use. It has a "window", as I call it.

As always, thoughts and criticisms are welcome.

You added your own style to it with purpose. Nice work, I like it.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Ditto! First thing I thought of was a woman's scooped-out top (yeah, Fairbanks was rough) ;-)

Very nice design: both visual and functional (I very much dislike having to fumble for a razor's spine, when opening it)

Thanks gents! I wanted to have the window come down further so the whole engraving was exposed, but I didn't want to get too radical with such an old blade. If I have my history right, it's from the 1870's. I'm certainly not a purist, but I wanted to be moderately respectful

    I love the scales!

Sometimes the wood scales looks a bit bulky IMO but that window gives a elegant line to the razor.
