Thank you very much for the kind word

I prefer the near wedge than full hollow or half hollow grind, and it's easier to do. the shave is smooth and very efficient (in my mind) . I have a dark hard beard and i find a better edge retention with not too deep edge.

I do all my heat treatment myself. I build a small heat treatment oven with a thermo regulation and a ceramic oven. The 100MnCrW4 is heat treated after three normalisation to 790°c, to 810°c, keep to that temperature during 5mn in order to have the full wolfram carbide migration/creation and quenched in oil bath around 60-80°c. (when the oil is warn, the temperature exchange is better between the steel and the oil and the cooling is faster. ) After that two tempering to 165-175°c during 30-45mn to have a good hardness and a good edge retention.
