7/8 classic wedge in Brazilian mahogany.
My other razor I forged and heat treated pretty much the same time as the ported carbon effect razor is this near wedge, it's from o1 steel, measures 7/8 and is a 1/4 thick spine. My father in law gave me some old solid wood window frames to up-cycle so I used them in the best way I could!! They are ca finished Brazilian mahogany, finished with brass pins and washers. I'm loving forging my own razors and I learn something new every time I do. It's great fun and this forum is a huge help along with everyone who contributes.
Thanks for looking, Rob.

Thanked: 1184Nice clean design, I like it. If you send it to me for testing I will make sure it gets a name on it :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 203Well done.
i especially like the way the wedge is tapered as opposed to the carbon fibre look razor where the wedge seemed more of a spacer...unless that was an optical illusion from photography..
Anyway - both razors are outstanding.

Thanks Adam, your right, the wedge is actually a wedge on this razor as opposed to the spacer I used on the carbon effect scales. The carbon fibre effect acrylic was more flexible than I anticipated so I kept the scales straight, the grind of the blade still allows the blade to sit snugly into the scales and as I mentioned earlier, they flex plenty when opening and closing. My next venture will be using real carbon fibre I think, the acrylic was a pain to work with and was a little 'softer' than my normal acrylic I use. Rob.
