This is my first go at cleaning scales! They were nasty! They were black in color and had all kinds of crud! They smell bad! Lol! Toothbrush and toothpaste and boom! They were clean and brown! Lol! I was like wtf!? Then i buffered them with my buffing wheel and the white buffing compound and the are looking decent now!

Finished product! I reused the scales!!
They are shave rdy and all! The Boker could have use some more sanding but my hands were hurting and i didnt wanna thin it out too much! They are nothing compared to some of the restores you guys have here but i am happy with them!

Don't knock an "easy" restore. They look great!
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

They look great, I am trying to find a good cheap razor to do my first restore. This defiantly makes me want to get one sooner than later.

I was lucky with both! The boker i got at a vintage store here in town and the hunter i got on ebay... I did everything by hand except at the end i got a craftsman's buffing wheel from sears that attaches to my drill and it comes with their white buffing compound... But everything else was by hand... From 280 grit to 12000
