Stunning work. In my mind that is very old school, like the insanely carved ivory scales from the mid-late 1800s (they don't pop up because they're all tucked away in private collections). Any chance you can comment on your process? (what tools did you use, how did you do the carving and the polishing, etc.?)

OK guys. I'll put together some pics of the sequence of building these scales and post it for you. Not much but it'll give you the general idea of what the mechanics are. It's actually the same process of what I do daily with my carving. I've also stumbled upon some scrimshaw along the way which I also plan to incorporate in some future scales. Cool!
