Default Vintage Japanese with Cherry Blossom Ivory

I originally posted this razor for an ID. But after doing the Jos. Elliot in Ivory I thought it should have been Cherry Blossoms on the scales. But Cherry Blossoms are more Japanese so I contacted my client and made him an offer he couldn't refuse just to get this razor so I could build the scales I had in my head. I broke down the razor , eliminated the new scales I had made and whipped up another set in Ivory. Seems more fitting I think.
The carving was done in 1/8th inch and some of it in 1/16th. Some areas of the petals allow light to pass through. I was going for a more delicate look compared to the Jos. Elliot I just did.
Also, considering the size you can see it's about twice the width of a standard pencil and three of the blossoms fit under a dime.
    Original shots and my re-do.
Here too not every ones cup of tea but I just had to do it for fun. It's mine now so I can do what I please with it.
Also,, it's 3 AM , I just wrapped it up and there is some gunk from the wax here and there. Overlook it please and I promise I'll get it removed tomorrow!

Looking good, about how long does that take you from start to finish on the scales.

I'm glad you have a job that is a hobby and still love doing it.
My buddy is an auto body mechanic. It is hard to get him to work on my stuff, and he drives the worst car lol. Although his truck looks good for what he did to it.

Ah cool! I'm currently carving 1300 ft of mouldings along with some Acanthus leaf island legs. Any links to your work ?

Yeah, I've been retired for the past 25 yrs. Meaning, most people can't wait to retire to do what they love. I've been doing it all this time so I'm basically retired!
I built a truck too. A 57 chevy that I restored. That's too much like fun.

Now that is just drop dead gorgeous especially paired with the Japanese blade. Thanks for sharing that.

I have said it before in a PM but have to say it here. You are a true artist. Great work. Wish I had your talent.
