Lister & Knowles.
Well since it came in with half my work done on it all I needed to do was to finish it off with a bit of Mag Wheel polish and button her up. Well OK,, I did sand it a bit.
Since it was in this condition I figured a straight up resto was out of the question . So I played. I love to restore,, but with something like this all is fair game.
The blade came out quite nice and since it's rather large ( 15/16 and weighs a ton ) I needed a "manly" look to it. I did up some streaked black horn scales ( feathered to some ) added some 5/64th washers and pins ( the 1/16 looked silly ) added an Elk Horn wedge, hence the pores and off white color matching the streaks as I thought a pure Ivory wedge just wouldn't fit the theme here and called it done. I wanted it big, bold, in your face "manly" looking blade. And man,, does this thing cut!

Yeah,, you see it . The "rough" looking scales with somehow that rugged look, not all pretty , bold. The wedge, here too not all pretty and pristine. It has pores and made from Antler. The blade, Paul Bunyans polished axe,,weighs a ton. The fatter than normal pins.
OK,, I'm just repeating myself. I tend to get carried away with these things.

Love the streaked horn, great that you were able to get the polish to show in your pics. I can never get it to work.

Do you mean you can never get the Horn polished or that you can't get the polish to show in your photos?

I think I just get lucky. I'm not much of a photographer but sure someone here can help.
