Thread: Curley's IDEAL Safety Razor.

I posted this in the general Razor forum thinking many may not visit here and see this piece. I also thought the break down photos would help explain the workings of this piece.

Interesting what they came up with over the course of time.
I never saw one ( that's not saying much ) but i thought the clever ideas here were just too much to pass by. I had to have it for the collection.
I didn't remove all the patina because one,, the blade is just too thin to do much with and I don't think I'm going to find too many more. And two, the patent dates on it I just had to keep.
As I said in the other post I've been told they show up on eBay. I don't go there so this was new to me
Just an interesting addition to the collection showing the variety of ideas that came and went.

That is indeed awesome.
i saw something with a similar idea many years ago from China. designed to safely and easily shave heads 100 years or so ago. Your one has a much better execution of the idea.

Yeah, it's a neat addition to be sure. Just wish it was in better condition but it looks fitting the way it is now. I'll keep it , try it , and it has a good home.

Just picked up one of these for 20 bucks... I'm excited to try it out
