Thanked: 170Now it works. This happens often. Won't open the first time I look at the post. I come back later, and the pictures are there. Maybe Firefox is getting buggy on my Mac. I'll just have to live with it, I guess. And, the kami is amazing! Thanks for trying - there was one image on the link you suggested.

Thanked: 44Thanks everyone for the kind words. This project took a fair amount of thought, and so I thought it better to show it as a process rather than just an end product. The razor admittedly isn't a crazy or classic design, and thus might not hit all the right buttons in a community like this, but it is well executed and very practical.
I still kinda like the aesthetics of the Iwasaki though I don't really like it ergonomically. I wonder what a razor like mine would look like in a rougher finish, maybe with kuro-uchi. Ah well, can't afford random new razor projects now.

Wow...
Love the details in the design concepts and the final product.
He really put a lot of character into the final razor.
Beautiful work.

I agree entirely with your analogy about holding the Kamisori feels like holding the edge of a coin - you have obviously overcome that with the broader thumb grip. Looks like a great job by both of you.

Very nice story and very nice project! I really like the way you tweaked the whole razor with ergonomics in mind. I am the lucky owner of the above mentioned Dragon Slayer and it's a perfect shaver. In all honesty, I have to say that you went quite far from your initial plan. The file-work and the etching as well as the nose gives this blade it's character. You changed these three vital points and still came up with an awesome razor. I think either Sandor or you should give this one a new name.
Once again: very nice story and great to see your thoughts and desires come to life in the hands of Sandor. I'll drink to that!
