Thanked: 61finally got my dream razor??? DPRK razor in horn and brass wedge
Well being asian in a straight razor world is kinda uncommon... we're all about fast and efficient... Well thats not me! I'm Korean and always keep an eye out for asian inspired stuff... The closest thing I've came to getting something korean is japanese... This is a french/german/english world of straight razors...
Well I finally found a korean straight razor... except its the wrong type of korean!
This is one of those DPRK (democratic ppls republic of korea aka north korea) Razor made I believe for the olympic games...
The scales were plastic and ugly So I decided to rescale it in more of a japanesse straight razor look.. Like a biken 8000 or a meiko...
Well I've always dreamed of a south korean inspired razor... I guess this is as good as it gets (well I guess Dorko was bought out by a south korean company so I could buy a Dorko)
Had to bend the tang back into straight then curve my scales to get this sucker to center..
Translucent ugly horn with brass wedge
Edit: if anyone has another DPRK razor for sale PLEASE PM ME!

Well you made the ugly ducking into a handsome swan. I like what you had to do to center the blade.

Wow, very nice indeed! I love the look of horn, think my next purchase will have to be something in horn. Yours are so unusual, I love the finished look! Plus something a little personal, that's what it's all about.
