    That sounds like ruined temper to me, or incorrect angle. I couldn't get a razor to take an edge once and solved it by adding 3 layers of tape, perhaps you could try that?

    a even marked an edge with a marker and checked it under a magnifier, bevel looked good, haven't tried the tape layers though,.. I might try it thanks

    yes, purpleheart or roxinho... I like it too , as far as I know it tends to darken when exposed to UV, so we'll see how that goes, scales were oil-finished
