Looking good indeed, and that Böker looks fantastic. I would suggest turning the spacer into a wedge, though, that will make the razor turn smoother in the scales. And maybe, just maybe, thin the scales down a bit, until the point where they are a little flexible, until you can pinch them together with the blade in place.

Walnut stain on a test piece of wood used to make the scales. Kinda like the natural color but this isn't bad either...

I like the subtlety of the untreated smooth wood. However, it won't be water resistant, so that'll only work when you keep the scales dry or use an invisible/translucent finish. I usually buff my scales with regular steel polish, gives it a waxy finish, but I believe you don't have a buffer, so I'm not much help.
