It is the width of the blade from spine to edge in 1/8" increments, so 8/8 is 1"

Further the razor all will be better and better.

That's a great first razor, even better that it shaves well.Black chrome coloured fasteners if they were available would give a slight contrast, but looks good as it is.

Seeing that a goodly percentage of the time I have difficulties just honing a blade... It really impresses me when someone 'makes' one!!

Well done Watching these threads make me want to make my own razor but I think I am getting ahead of myself I don't know how to hone yet and I don't have any tools to make my own razor. Hopefully the time will be right some day.

Very cool looking blade, I like the black. That is a great first blade. My first blade was trash, you are off to a fantastic start.
