Default Henckels 60 1/2 in Abalone.

So this has been a PITA for 3 months. When I got it it was dressed in plain black with washerless pins. Descaling it the scales broke. I made a set of birds eye maple scales, then realized they were too big. Last night I dug out this material I have had for a few years. Three hours later it was done. The blade is much the way I bought it. The wedge is sculpted bone.
Cant seem to get an edge though. I get the bevel set, then lose it again!

Looks great! You might lose the bevel but you won't be losing that razor!

That blade looks as though it may have been a frameback. If you got it on the bay I was watching that same razor. I would try getting some small brass tube and making a piece for the back. You may be losing the edge because its too sharp of an angle.

Nice work, really like the shape of that blade. Not usually a fan of abalone because we eat so much of it so the shell is common here but it looks great on that blade. The spine looks too thick to have been a frameback , but I could be wrong.

I'm not usually a fan of abalone either, but it does look great with that razor.
