Thanked: 61ali's blade wedge kamisori 8/8 rescaled??? wuh??? juma golden dragon
So i bought this 8/8 kamisori ali's blade from another forum member for a song and it's beautiful... only problem? I hate kamisori razors I feel like they need scales..
Well after three carbide tipped drill bits chewed up and repinning this razor 3 times i finally did it...
ps. I HATE working with juma golden dragon... it's very flexible when thin and when pinning the washers dig into the material rather than get tighter..

Thanked: 884I've had good luck in the past by placing a piece of small copper tubing at the location I wanted to drill. The copper was then heated red hot with a torch and care taken not to heat anything other than the copper. This method pulls the temper where the copper contacts the steel.
Used that method drilling case hardened rifle receivers for scope mounts. Saved a lot of money on drill bits.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.

it might be sacrilege of a masters blade
but I really do like the customised custom you have now
the scale material matches the blade great I think
job well doneSaved,
to shave another day.

Yeah I felt bad doing it but I like it much better now... I mocked it up and tried it and tried it alone... Ended up liking the mock up better ... Felt better in my hand and shaved better... So I went for it
It changed the center of balance to where I hold the razor naturally which was behind the circle...
Also makes for a truely unique looking razor and lastly I love folding kamisori's...
The razor itself kinda had a medieval look to it so the scales I chose kinda had a medieval theme to it... It was either that or distressed scales like Lewis customs have
I may email Cedric begging for forgiveness ;-)Last edited by Heespharm; 04-01-2014 at 03:21 AM.

What type of material is that juma golden dragon? That is a new one to me. I really like the look of it.

Thanked: 61I wouldn't call it heirloom quality but it centers and stays solid and tight for now
